This is an autobiography of Shaheen bhutt, who wrote her own story of depressive teenage years. Her slow transformation from a child to reclusive teenager, who only wants to curl up herself in her own room. She talks a lot about depression in this book. She explained that fighting alone with clinical depression is the hardest thing to living a life with. She also described about why and how depression robs you of the capacity to love. And, this book came with some notes of author’s diary (I’m not sure that it came with full diary or not as I’ve read ePub. Actually I heard ePub did not include the full diary).
I can totally relate to the author. It seems someone just wrote a little about me.
Depression is a common mental disorder. There are 300 million people of all ages suffer from depression. This could be a book that everyone can relate who suffers from depression along anxiety, insomnia and stress. In this society, no one takes mental disorder as a disease. So, only the person can feel this disease who suffers. Mostly in the society I’m belong to, no one cares about the person who is dying to get out of this disease. It seems people even never heard about depression and stuff before. From my own experience, anti-depressants do not work when your family-friends don’t take a proper care of your mental health.
